EMPAC welcomes Professor Karen Harrison

EMPAC is pleased to welcome a new point of contact at the University of Lincoln – Professor Karen Harrison – following the retirement of Professor Matthew Hall. We extend our thanks to Professor Hall for working with us in the past and send him our very best wishes for the future.

Professor Harrison is a Professor of Law and Penal Justice in Lincoln Law School, and Departmental Director of Research.

In the past, Karen has worked with Humberside Police, researching sex offenders, and with the British Academy exploring the underreporting of sexual abuse.

Karen has just completed an evaluation of the policy, training and implementation of body worn video with Humberside Police, and is working with Lincolnshire Police on the Police Educational Qualification Framework (PEQF).

EMPAC asked what were Karen’s intentions for the future: “Amongst other things, I’m interested in looking at health and well-being in all criminal justice professionals. I’m about to start some work looking at this amongst operational prison managers and governors and I would be very interested in extending this to the police.”

EMPAC looks forward to working with Professor Harrison on as much criminal justice related research as possible!
