Home Office publishes Modern Crime Prevention Strategy

The Home Office has published it Modern Crime Prevention Strategy document, setting out an agenda for tackling the key drivers of crime in the UK.

The strategy document looks at what the current evidence-base is saying in relation to the six key drivers of crime that have been identified: opportunity, character, the effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System, profit, drugs and alcohol.

In each of these areas, the document sets out what the government’s approach will be to tackling the identified problems before looking at the tools at our disposal for addressing issues and horizon scanning for what the future holds in these areas.
