Treat with no tricks! EMPAC Hallowe’en event at University of Lincoln

Lincolnshire Police, in partnership with Lincoln University, will be hosting an EMPAC / Society of Evidenced Based Policing (SEBP) event at the University on 31^st October 2016.

The chosen venue – the David Chiddick Building on Brayford Wharf East, Lincoln, LN5 7AT – can hold up to 60 delegates, so book early! Admission is free, a stimulating discussion is guaranteed and there will be free refreshments and lunch. The event will run from 10.30am until 3pm.

Simon Smith, a Detective Constable who works for Lincolnshire Police alongside G4S in their learning and development team, will facilitate the event. The focus will be on ‘impact’: how evidence based policing makes a difference to real world policing, within the EMPAC work stream ‘Operational Policing’, which is led by Nick Howe of the University of Derby.

The event will be officially opened by Deputy Chief Constable Gary Knighton, who has established an EBP strategic group within Lincolnshire Police. Gary has a BSc and Masters degree from Portsmouth University. Mr Knighton has made it clear he values the importance of developing a professional knowledge base and hopes to see an EBP approach within force tasking processes.

The local organisers for the event are Detective Superintendent Chris Davison and Professor of Law and Director of Research, Matthew Hall.
