Evidence Based Policing Research Discussion Group

The College of Policing have published notes from a discussion group to review approaches to the undergraduate evidence based policing 3rd year module that is part of the new policing degree.

This is a welcome move towards clarifying some standardisation in the future that meets the requirements of the Higher Education National Standards Framework, whilst also being contextualised in professional policing practice.

There had been some previous discussions over methodological parameters around ‘evidence-based’ approaches that were often exclusively quantitative, but now the approach seems thankfully to have accepted mixed methods.
